Narrative:

Upon taxi for takeoff, the captain attempted to turn on to another taxiway to takeoff. We slid through the intersection. There was no place left to turn around and no pushback equipment was available. We then advised ground we needed to power back and with coordination between ATC ground control and company ramp people we proceeded to power-back. We then told ground that at this intersection, 'braking is nil.' they then sanded said intersection. We also told company we would have to be deiced due to pwring back on contaminated area, after which we were able to taxi west/O further problems and take off uneventfully. I believe we did everything in an extremely professional manner and if any fault lies, it is with tvc management for not having the txwys properly sanded.
