Narrative:
Aircraft was set up on the cvg ILS 18L approach, on G/south, localizer centered. As we crossed the south bank of the ohio river over the cliffs, the GPWS issued a 'pull up' alert. All conditions were normal, and visibility was unrestricted, so no evasive action was taken. Under less than optimum WX conditions, this could prove very unnerving and would require a go around. Recommend the G/south be adjusted to prevent erroneous terrain closure alerts in the future.
