Narrative:
I entered a left base to runway 18R as instructed by ATC. Descending through 1000' I did the landing checklist. I distinctly remember moving the landing gear handle to the down position. As a matter of procedure, I continue to hold the gear handle in my hand until the sound of extension is heard and three green lights are seen. The G/south was tracked and a normal landing was made in the T/D zone on the centerline. I allowed the airplane to slow down at a natural pace west/O brakes because the turn off was still several thousand ft down the runway. At this point the landing gear collapsed and we skidded a short distance on the belly. I shut off the master switch, fuel valves and firewall shutoff valves and evacuated with a fire extinguisher in hand because a small amount of blue smoke began coming into the cockpit from around my feet.

Title: NORMAL TOUCHDOWN AND LNDG UNTIL GEAR COLLAPSED.
Narrative: I ENTERED A L BASE TO RWY 18R AS INSTRUCTED BY ATC. DSNDING THROUGH 1000' I DID THE LNDG CHKLIST. I DISTINCTLY REMEMBER MOVING THE LNDG GEAR HANDLE TO THE DOWN POS. AS A MATTER OF PROC, I CONTINUE TO HOLD THE GEAR HANDLE IN MY HAND UNTIL THE SOUND OF EXTENSION IS HEARD AND THREE GREEN LIGHTS ARE SEEN. THE G/S WAS TRACKED AND A NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE IN THE T/D ZONE ON THE CTRLINE. I ALLOWED THE AIRPLANE TO SLOW DOWN AT A NATURAL PACE W/O BRAKES BECAUSE THE TURN OFF WAS STILL SEVERAL THOUSAND FT DOWN THE RWY. AT THIS POINT THE LNDG GEAR COLLAPSED AND WE SKIDDED A SHORT DISTANCE ON THE BELLY.
