Narrative:
Turning onto taxiway X toward rwy xxl; the jump seats called reporting that a can was loose and sliding side to side. We returned to gate to confirm that the hazmat can in 1R was not locked down and was sliding into 1R. Cause: rushing to complete loading and get a late flight blocked out and on the way. Suggestions: greater attention to detail by all parties involved in loading and inspection of the hazmat can.
