Narrative:
There have been numerous taxiway a lndgs at dvt. This is due in part to a new repaved/conditioned taxiway and its close proximity to the runway (200'). An additional factor noticed is that when the sun is rising/setting off runway 7L/25R, more occurrences seem to take place. Small aircraft X pilot spoke with me personally after the incident and said that he had mistaken taxiway a as runway 25R while on short final, and then side-stepped to taxiway a. While the aircraft was on 1/2 mi final, I observed the aircraft on final for runway 25R. I then had to locate my aircraft on left base for runway 25L. I believe it was at this time that the pilot side-stepped and landed on the taxiway. I believe analyst X of NASA is very familiar with this type of occurrence at dvt.

Title: SMA X UNAUTH LNDG ON TXWY. PLT DEVIATION. SITUATION: RECENTLY PAVED TXWY LOOKS LIKE RWY.
Narrative: THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS TXWY A LNDGS AT DVT. THIS IS DUE IN PART TO A NEW REPAVED/CONDITIONED TXWY AND ITS CLOSE PROX TO THE RWY (200'). AN ADDITIONAL FACTOR NOTICED IS THAT WHEN THE SUN IS RISING/SETTING OFF RWY 7L/25R, MORE OCCURRENCES SEEM TO TAKE PLACE. SMA X PLT SPOKE WITH ME PERSONALLY AFTER THE INCIDENT AND SAID THAT HE HAD MISTAKEN TXWY A AS RWY 25R WHILE ON SHORT FINAL, AND THEN SIDE-STEPPED TO TXWY A. WHILE THE ACFT WAS ON 1/2 MI FINAL, I OBSERVED THE ACFT ON FINAL FOR RWY 25R. I THEN HAD TO LOCATE MY ACFT ON LEFT BASE FOR RWY 25L. I BELIEVE IT WAS AT THIS TIME THAT THE PLT SIDE-STEPPED AND LANDED ON THE TXWY. I BELIEVE ANALYST X OF NASA IS VERY FAMILIAR WITH THIS TYPE OF OCCURRENCE AT DVT.
