Air Traffic Incident | Inter Facility Coordination Failure Operational Deviation |
Narrative:
During a period of heavy traffic, 2 aircraft entered another sector's/facility's airspace west/O coordination. At the time, departure positions were combined. Traffic was being worked off of dca, iad, bwi--overflt traffic through the airspace which departures had to climb through, running approachs to daa army air field and non radar approachs (IFR/VFR) at shannon-ezf. The sector was saturated and the supervisor tried to help, but it was too little too late. Sep was never lost at any time. Requests for VFR advisories had to be denied. Cpr X was climbing to an altitude above a sector's airspace, but had to be turned to avoid inbound aircraft (ground temperature 84 degrees). Air carrier X had to stop below overflt traffic and entered iad approach airspace climbing to ldn (departure fix). This could have been avoided by splitting the position. Clear sunday afternoon with lots of VFR traffic. The supervisor and I were at fault thinking 1 person could work the traffic (hero, macho, etc). Also, controller working other departure position working light traffic offered no help at all.

Title: CPR X AND ACR Y ENTERED IAD APCH CTL AIRSPACE WITHOUT COORD. OPERATIONAL DEVIATION.
Narrative: DURING A PERIOD OF HEAVY TFC, 2 ACFT ENTERED ANOTHER SECTOR'S/FAC'S AIRSPACE W/O COORD. AT THE TIME, DEP POSITIONS WERE COMBINED. TFC WAS BEING WORKED OFF OF DCA, IAD, BWI--OVERFLT TFC THROUGH THE AIRSPACE WHICH DEPS HAD TO CLB THROUGH, RUNNING APCHS TO DAA ARMY AIR FIELD AND NON RADAR APCHS (IFR/VFR) AT SHANNON-EZF. THE SECTOR WAS SATURATED AND THE SUPVR TRIED TO HELP, BUT IT WAS TOO LITTLE TOO LATE. SEP WAS NEVER LOST AT ANY TIME. REQUESTS FOR VFR ADVISORIES HAD TO BE DENIED. CPR X WAS CLBING TO AN ALT ABOVE A SECTOR'S AIRSPACE, BUT HAD TO BE TURNED TO AVOID INBND ACFT (GND TEMP 84 DEGS). ACR X HAD TO STOP BELOW OVERFLT TFC AND ENTERED IAD APCH AIRSPACE CLBING TO LDN (DEP FIX). THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY SPLITTING THE POS. CLR SUNDAY AFTERNOON WITH LOTS OF VFR TFC. THE SUPVR AND I WERE AT FAULT THINKING 1 PERSON COULD WORK THE TFC (HERO, MACHO, ETC). ALSO, CTLR WORKING OTHER DEP POS WORKING LIGHT TFC OFFERED NO HELP AT ALL.
