Narrative:
Trailing edge of right wing tip struck blast fence adjacent to runup area when turning to face back toward the taxiway. It was night, the area is not lighted or marked, and has no taxi lines. The area is pretty narrow and the blast fence may be too close and/or too high for proper clearance. Supplemental information from acn 175289. While waiting for hold into ord (destination) at end of runway 18R (cvg). Supplemental information from acn 175374. Felt bump as aircraft turned F/east sent to inspect, aircraft determined to be damaged. Taxied back to gate. 2' of wing tip scraped did not appear to be immediately hazardous.

Narrative: TRAILING EDGE OF R WING TIP STRUCK BLAST FENCE ADJACENT TO RUNUP AREA WHEN TURNING TO FACE BACK TOWARD THE TXWY. IT WAS NIGHT, THE AREA IS NOT LIGHTED OR MARKED, AND HAS NO TAXI LINES. THE AREA IS PRETTY NARROW AND THE BLAST FENCE MAY BE TOO CLOSE AND/OR TOO HIGH FOR PROPER CLRNC. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 175289. WHILE WAITING FOR HOLD INTO ORD (DEST) AT END OF RWY 18R (CVG). SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 175374. FELT BUMP AS ACFT TURNED F/E SENT TO INSPECT, ACFT DETERMINED TO BE DAMAGED. TAXIED BACK TO GATE. 2' OF WING TIP SCRAPED DID NOT APPEAR TO BE IMMEDIATELY HAZARDOUS.
