Narrative:
After exiting runway 34R turning southbound on parallel taxiway. Ground said to give way to 'twin' and proceed to gate. At the same time, just ahead of us, coming out of the area we were to go into, was another medium large transport coming out. Both captain and first officer thought that controller was referring to this aircraft, to the point the first officer said, 'so they're calling us twins now.' as the medium large transport cleared the alleyway between the north satellite and C concourse, we proceeded in. As I made the turn, I noticed an small aircraft in my 8 O'clock position. I cut him off because I misunderstood what the controller meant by 'twin.' I should have questioned the term 'twin' as the medium large transport is called 'twin jet.'

Title: ACR MLG FLT CREW FAILS TO GIVE RIGHT OF WAY TO SMA, AS DIRECTED BY GND CTLR.
Narrative: AFTER EXITING RWY 34R TURNING SBND ON PARALLEL TXWY. GND SAID TO GIVE WAY TO 'TWIN' AND PROCEED TO GATE. AT THE SAME TIME, JUST AHEAD OF US, COMING OUT OF THE AREA WE WERE TO GO INTO, WAS ANOTHER MLG COMING OUT. BOTH CAPT AND F/O THOUGHT THAT CTLR WAS REFERRING TO THIS ACFT, TO THE POINT THE F/O SAID, 'SO THEY'RE CALLING US TWINS NOW.' AS THE MLG CLRED THE ALLEYWAY BTWN THE N SATELLITE AND C CONCOURSE, WE PROCEEDED IN. AS I MADE THE TURN, I NOTICED AN SMA IN MY 8 O'CLOCK POS. I CUT HIM OFF BECAUSE I MISUNDERSTOOD WHAT THE CTLR MEANT BY 'TWIN.' I SHOULD HAVE QUESTIONED THE TERM 'TWIN' AS THE MLG IS CALLED 'TWIN JET.'
