Narrative:
Air carrier X approaching dfw regional on the scurry #1 STAR over the refil at 11000 ft, 210 KTS, the TCAS indicated aircraft Y on collision course from our left. TCAS directed us to descend. We descended approximately 350 ft and made a hard right turn. TCAS then announced traffic was clear. We climbed back to 11000 ft and proceeded on course. When questioned the controller stated he didn't have time to advise us of the traffic. The traffic in question was authorized to climb VFR through our altitude by ATC.
