Narrative:
Climbing through 32500' leveling at 33000' the cabin rapidly went from 5500' to 10000' with altitude horn sounding. We started aircraft in a rapid descent from 33000 to 10000', doing checklist on way down. Passenger or deployed at cabin altitude 13000'. No action would hold cabin. At 10000' the pressurization did descend to 5500' and worked fine to landing at den. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: first officer reporter was contacted and added that O2 masks were donned by the flight crew, although the captain showed some signs of being slow to don his in an act of disbelief of the situation. When queried, the first officer stated that he felt that the 1 yr so could have caught the cabin or reported it sooner than he did as he had been watching it in its climb from 8000' up to the 10000' level where the horn sounded. The aft was on its second leg after being accepted from a contract maintenance base operated by another large air carrier. Aircraft was later ferried to overhaul for aircraft check. This was first officer's second loss of cabin pressure that month.

Title: EMERGENCY DECLARED WITH AN EMERGENCY DESCENT EXECUTED AFTER LOSS OF CABIN PRESSURE CTL.
Narrative: CLBING THROUGH 32500' LEVELING AT 33000' THE CABIN RAPIDLY WENT FROM 5500' TO 10000' WITH ALT HORN SOUNDING. WE STARTED ACFT IN A RAPID DSNT FROM 33000 TO 10000', DOING CHKLIST ON WAY DOWN. PAX OR DEPLOYED AT CABIN ALT 13000'. NO ACTION WOULD HOLD CABIN. AT 10000' THE PRESSURIZATION DID DSND TO 5500' AND WORKED FINE TO LNDG AT DEN. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: F/O RPTR WAS CONTACTED AND ADDED THAT O2 MASKS WERE DONNED BY THE FLT CREW, ALTHOUGH THE CAPT SHOWED SOME SIGNS OF BEING SLOW TO DON HIS IN AN ACT OF DISBELIEF OF THE SITUATION. WHEN QUERIED, THE F/O STATED THAT HE FELT THAT THE 1 YR SO COULD HAVE CAUGHT THE CABIN OR RPTED IT SOONER THAN HE DID AS HE HAD BEEN WATCHING IT IN ITS CLB FROM 8000' UP TO THE 10000' LEVEL WHERE THE HORN SOUNDED. THE AFT WAS ON ITS SECOND LEG AFTER BEING ACCEPTED FROM A CONTRACT MAINT BASE OPERATED BY ANOTHER LARGE ACR. ACFT WAS LATER FERRIED TO OVERHAUL FOR ACFT CHK. THIS WAS F/O'S SECOND LOSS OF CABIN PRESSURE THAT MONTH.
