Narrative:
During taxi out for takeoff we may have run over a taxiway light or the base of a light which had been run over earlier. We found no evidence of a broken light but we did puncture a tire. We had it replaced before takeoff. We were off the taxiway centerline because of the following reasons: this taxiway is not designed for widebody transport use. There was a wing tip clearance concern on the left causing us to move right. Taxi lights are non standard and poorly located. Many are missing due to having been run over previously. The ones remaining can easily be mistaken for centerline lights due to their location(on the right side of taxiway only). It was night, with rain and we were tired due to an all night operation. This happened at early am local after starting duty the previous evening. The painted centerline markings were almost impossible to see. The lights were located way in from the edge of taxiway.
