Narrative:

Flight chs-clt. WX well above VFR. I as first officer was flying and was cleared to maintain 2700 ft till lecar (7.1 DME from clt) cleared for back course 23 clt -- 8 in trail of company large transport. At 2700 MSL about 9 mi from clt we encountered vortex from proceeding aircraft that caused a roll to left that required almost full counter control and almost maximum power for about 5-6 seconds. Airspeed loss was about 15 KTS. Altitude deviation of maybe 300 ft low at lecar. Wind was 150 at 6.
