Narrative:
On oct/thu/91, while performing my duties as a flight engineer on flight pse-bqn, we were notified on taxi out by unicom that the right wing of our aircraft had struck something. We stopped the aircraft on the taxiway and I exited via the aft airstairs to inspect the wing. I noticed some wet paint on the #7 slat and a small ding on the #8 slat. I reentered the aircraft, raised the airstairs and informed the captain of my findings. About this time the company maintenance personnel arrived at the aircraft at the taxiway with an airport escort. The maintenance personnel inspected the wing and had us retract and extend the flaps. He then indicated to the captain that everything was okay, so we continued the trip.
