Narrative:
Basically, pilot of an small aircraft entered the lna traffic pattern at least a mi behind me (according to his radioed intentions). The pilot was a pasco county, fl, sheriff employee, the aircraft is owned and operated by the pasco county sheriff department. Also, the pilot told me that he had me in sight when I turned from downwind to base (800 AGL) for landing on runway 33 lna. When I questioned him on the ground after landing, he also explained that after turning base he had lost me. He flew in the traffic pattern from behind me to the turn from base to final where I saw him pass directly above me at about 150 ft distance (maybe less) and then proceeded ahead to land on runway 33 lna. I radioed 45 entry into downwind, again, turning to base and also as he passed me turning to final. My radio was received by him because my 45 entry call made him change his earlier entry plan to enter base leg for landing 33 lna. He knew I was in the pattern. He didn't know where after turning base but kept on coming with no visual contact and caused a serious near miss while passing in the traffic pattern to land ahead!
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: RPTR APPARENTLY ACCUSING OTHER PLT OF DISREGARDING KNOWN TFC AND CUTTING HIM OUT ON FINAL APCH.
Narrative: BASICALLY, PLT OF AN SMA ENTERED THE LNA TFC PATTERN AT LEAST A MI BEHIND ME (ACCORDING TO HIS RADIOED INTENTIONS). THE PLT WAS A PASCO COUNTY, FL, SHERIFF EMPLOYEE, THE ACFT IS OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE PASCO COUNTY SHERIFF DEPT. ALSO, THE PLT TOLD ME THAT HE HAD ME IN SIGHT WHEN I TURNED FROM DOWNWIND TO BASE (800 AGL) FOR LNDG ON RWY 33 LNA. WHEN I QUESTIONED HIM ON THE GND AFTER LNDG, HE ALSO EXPLAINED THAT AFTER TURNING BASE HE HAD LOST ME. HE FLEW IN THE TFC PATTERN FROM BEHIND ME TO THE TURN FROM BASE TO FINAL WHERE I SAW HIM PASS DIRECTLY ABOVE ME AT ABOUT 150 FT DISTANCE (MAYBE LESS) AND THEN PROCEEDED AHEAD TO LAND ON RWY 33 LNA. I RADIOED 45 ENTRY INTO DOWNWIND, AGAIN, TURNING TO BASE AND ALSO AS HE PASSED ME TURNING TO FINAL. MY RADIO WAS RECEIVED BY HIM BECAUSE MY 45 ENTRY CALL MADE HIM CHANGE HIS EARLIER ENTRY PLAN TO ENTER BASE LEG FOR LNDG 33 LNA. HE KNEW I WAS IN THE PATTERN. HE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE AFTER TURNING BASE BUT KEPT ON COMING WITH NO VISUAL CONTACT AND CAUSED A SERIOUS NEAR MISS WHILE PASSING IN THE TFC PATTERN TO LAND AHEAD!
