Narrative:
I took off from reid hillview (rhv) airport. Prior to takeoff I had advised rhv tower that my destination was san jose international airport (sjc). I was assigned a squawk code and was instructed to depart straight out and contact sjc tower. At about 700 ft MSL I asked rhv tower if it was ok to switch frequency and contact sjc tower. I was then issued a TA that there was an small transport at 11 O'clock and 900 ft and then was instructed to contact sjc tower. I advised no contact and began to switch to sjc tower. I was at approximately 1000 ft MSL and noticed a plane approaching from my right side abeam my aircraft. The plane passed under and to the front of me. The plane was a twin and looked like an small transport type a or small transport type B. It took a min or so for sjc tower to respond to my call and I was advised to make a right base entry to runway 30R. I turned to base and then told the tower I had experienced a near miss. Sjc tower told me it was probably an aircraft that was taking photos in the area. There was not enough time to take evasive action on my part. After landing I was instructed to contact the tower by telephone, which I did. I reported the near miss to both the tower supervisor and manager at sjc.

Title: CLOSE PROX GA-SMA GA-SMT NW OF RHV.
Narrative: I TOOK OFF FROM REID HILLVIEW (RHV) ARPT. PRIOR TO TKOF I HAD ADVISED RHV TWR THAT MY DEST WAS SAN JOSE INTL ARPT (SJC). I WAS ASSIGNED A SQUAWK CODE AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO DEPART STRAIGHT OUT AND CONTACT SJC TWR. AT ABOUT 700 FT MSL I ASKED RHV TWR IF IT WAS OK TO SWITCH FREQ AND CONTACT SJC TWR. I WAS THEN ISSUED A TA THAT THERE WAS AN SMT AT 11 O'CLOCK AND 900 FT AND THEN WAS INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT SJC TWR. I ADVISED NO CONTACT AND BEGAN TO SWITCH TO SJC TWR. I WAS AT APPROX 1000 FT MSL AND NOTICED A PLANE APCHING FROM MY R SIDE ABEAM MY ACFT. THE PLANE PASSED UNDER AND TO THE FRONT OF ME. THE PLANE WAS A TWIN AND LOOKED LIKE AN SMT TYPE A OR SMT TYPE B. IT TOOK A MIN OR SO FOR SJC TWR TO RESPOND TO MY CALL AND I WAS ADVISED TO MAKE A R BASE ENTRY TO RWY 30R. I TURNED TO BASE AND THEN TOLD THE TWR I HAD EXPERIENCED A NEAR MISS. SJC TWR TOLD ME IT WAS PROBABLY AN ACFT THAT WAS TAKING PHOTOS IN THE AREA. THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION ON MY PART. AFTER LNDG I WAS INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT THE TWR BY TELEPHONE, WHICH I DID. I RPTED THE NEAR MISS TO BOTH THE TWR SUPVR AND MGR AT SJC.
