Narrative:
Climbing out from ord and cleared to 5000 ft. At approximately 4800 ft the TCASII indicated traffic at approximately 10:30 position but indicated no altitude. The TCASII issued a TA and both myself and the captain looked at the TCASII screen. Shortly thereafter, I cautioned the captain on his climb as he was passing 5200 ft. Again at 5300 ft I told him he was above his altitude. Meanwhile he had initiated a correction to his climb and descended back to 5000 ft. We called departure control and told them we had a TCASII advisory and that we had climbed above our cleared altitude. No TAS were issued by ATC because the traffic was well above us. The traffic was not using mode C. Supplemental information from acn 195767. I saw a non-mode C (no altitude) target at about our 11:30 position, 2 mi. My attention was on this target, since I did not know his altitude. I turned right, away from target, and inadvertently climbed through my assigned altitude of 5000 ft to about 5700 ft.

Title: ACR MLG ALTDEV OVERSHOT DURING CLB OUT FROM ORD.
Narrative: CLBING OUT FROM ORD AND CLRED TO 5000 FT. AT APPROX 4800 FT THE TCASII INDICATED TFC AT APPROX 10:30 POS BUT INDICATED NO ALT. THE TCASII ISSUED A TA AND BOTH MYSELF AND THE CAPT LOOKED AT THE TCASII SCREEN. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, I CAUTIONED THE CAPT ON HIS CLB AS HE WAS PASSING 5200 FT. AGAIN AT 5300 FT I TOLD HIM HE WAS ABOVE HIS ALT. MEANWHILE HE HAD INITIATED A CORRECTION TO HIS CLB AND DSNDED BACK TO 5000 FT. WE CALLED DEP CTL AND TOLD THEM WE HAD A TCASII ADVISORY AND THAT WE HAD CLBED ABOVE OUR CLRED ALT. NO TAS WERE ISSUED BY ATC BECAUSE THE TFC WAS WELL ABOVE US. THE TFC WAS NOT USING MODE C. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 195767. I SAW A NON-MODE C (NO ALT) TARGET AT ABOUT OUR 11:30 POS, 2 MI. MY ATTN WAS ON THIS TARGET, SINCE I DID NOT KNOW HIS ALT. I TURNED R, AWAY FROM TARGET, AND INADVERTENTLY CLBED THROUGH MY ASSIGNED ALT OF 5000 FT TO ABOUT 5700 FT.
