Narrative:
After a brief problem en route to hro the right egt gauge functioned properly in descent, landing, start-up and taxi phases, so we determined that the gauge was working properly. However, it failed during the takeoff run. We decided it would be safer to go ahead and fly the airplane around the pattern to a landing than to abort the takeoff at the high speed we were traveling.
