Narrative:
Our flight departed approximately 90 seconds after an air carrier Y large transport on 18R at tpa. The large transport was given a right turn then our flight was given a 'passing 3000 ft, turn right 260 degree'. We accomplished this and as we rolled out of the turn noticed a conflict. The large transport was on a northerly heading and very close to our altitude. We leveled off at 4000 ft and turned to pass behind the large transport. The controller had turned our flight prematurely.
