Narrative:
I had loaded the FMC with the original flight plan, which included kont - prado 2 departure, paradise transition. Clearance delivery cleared us for the pomona 6 departure, daggett transition, which was then selected in the FMC. The FMC inadvertently (and unknown to me) called up the hassa 4 departure, even though the pomona 6 was displayed on the route page of the FMC, and the FMC displayed the crossing restriction of pom at or below 8000 (this is at or below 9000 on the hassa 4 departure). After departure, we crossed pom at approximately 7500 ft and tracked the pom 323 degree radial instead of the 301 degree radial as called for on the pomona 6 departure. ZLA questioned our heading at the pom 323/12 DME, then cleared us direct to daggett. After we were cleared direct to daggett, we realized we were on the wrong radial. We complied with all altitude restrictions on the pomona 6 departure.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR MLG TRACK HDG DEV ON SID FROM ONT.
Narrative: I HAD LOADED THE FMC WITH THE ORIGINAL FLT PLAN, WHICH INCLUDED KONT - PRADO 2 DEP, PARADISE TRANSITION. CLRNC DELIVERY CLRED US FOR THE POMONA 6 DEP, DAGGETT TRANSITION, WHICH WAS THEN SELECTED IN THE FMC. THE FMC INADVERTENTLY (AND UNKNOWN TO ME) CALLED UP THE HASSA 4 DEP, EVEN THOUGH THE POMONA 6 WAS DISPLAYED ON THE RTE PAGE OF THE FMC, AND THE FMC DISPLAYED THE XING RESTRICTION OF POM AT OR BELOW 8000 (THIS IS AT OR BELOW 9000 ON THE HASSA 4 DEP). AFTER DEP, WE CROSSED POM AT APPROX 7500 FT AND TRACKED THE POM 323 DEG RADIAL INSTEAD OF THE 301 DEG RADIAL AS CALLED FOR ON THE POMONA 6 DEP. ZLA QUESTIONED OUR HDG AT THE POM 323/12 DME, THEN CLRED US DIRECT TO DAGGETT. AFTER WE WERE CLRED DIRECT TO DAGGETT, WE REALIZED WE WERE ON THE WRONG RADIAL. WE COMPLIED WITH ALL ALT RESTRICTIONS ON THE POMONA 6 DEP.
