Narrative:
Departing abq, tower advised cleared for takeoff runway 8 turn left to 310 degree for noise abatement. After takeoff and 310 degree heading, departure advise we should have turned at 13.5 DME for the noise abatement procedure. The noise abatement procedure is on back of page 10-7 in an inconspicuous location. Maybe tower should advise crews sometime earlier. It would help if noise procedure was located in more conspicuous place or tower advise clear for takeoff, turn heading 310 degree at 13.5 DME.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR MLG TRACK HDG DEV FAILED TO FOLLOW NOISE SID AS CLRED.
Narrative: DEPARTING ABQ, TWR ADVISED CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 8 TURN L TO 310 DEG FOR NOISE ABATEMENT. AFTER TKOF AND 310 DEG HDG, DEP ADVISE WE SHOULD HAVE TURNED AT 13.5 DME FOR THE NOISE ABATEMENT PROC. THE NOISE ABATEMENT PROC IS ON BACK OF PAGE 10-7 IN AN INCONSPICUOUS LOCATION. MAYBE TWR SHOULD ADVISE CREWS SOMETIME EARLIER. IT WOULD HELP IF NOISE PROC WAS LOCATED IN MORE CONSPICUOUS PLACE OR TWR ADVISE CLR FOR TKOF, TURN HDG 310 DEG AT 13.5 DME.
