Narrative:

On downwind approach called 'traffic 12 O'clock.' first officer responded 'have him on the TCASII, not in sight.' TCASII called 'traffic,' then 'monitor vertical speed,' then 'climb.' first officer saw traffic and yelled 'climb' then told approach 'TCASII alert we are climbing.' the approach said 'roger, traffic is climbing.' after landing we were instructed to call the tower. The tower wanted my name, address, phone number, licenses number for the 'new' form that they have to file for 'TCASII' alerts. I hope that's all they wanted that for. I feel 'TCASII' saved our lives!
