Narrative:
Air carrier X cleared to descend to 7000 ft controller called out company traffic on climb out from mem to 6000 ft. Passing through 8000 ft TCASII indicated traffic. Immediately went to RA, monitor vertical speed, green band at 2000 FPM descent. I placed ivsi into green band. TCASII upgraded to a descend crossing descend RA. Increased green band to 2500 ft. When both aircraft were at same altitude, approximately 7600 ft MSL, TCASII changed to a climb, climb, climb; RA. Other aircraft Y was climbing. We had aircraft Y visually. Disregarded last RA as unsafe and descended to 7000 ft and leveled. Slight turn initiated by both aircraft Y. Continued climb. TCASII functioned well till last RA. I feel controllers may have made error that was corrected by combination of pilots with eyes out of cockpit and TCASII. Only problem would have been the climb RA which would have placed us back up towards aircraft Y. Aircraft Y passed above and behind us by about 400 ft and 1/2 mi. If IMC, metal would have been bent.

Title: ACR X TCASII TA RA DSCNT CLB WITH ACFT Y.
Narrative: ACR X CLRED TO DSND TO 7000 FT CTLR CALLED OUT COMPANY TFC ON CLB OUT FROM MEM TO 6000 FT. PASSING THROUGH 8000 FT TCASII INDICATED TFC. IMMEDIATELY WENT TO RA, MONITOR VERT SPD, GREEN BAND AT 2000 FPM DSCNT. I PLACED IVSI INTO GREEN BAND. TCASII UPGRADED TO A DSND XING DSND RA. INCREASED GREEN BAND TO 2500 FT. WHEN BOTH ACFT WERE AT SAME ALT, APPROX 7600 FT MSL, TCASII CHANGED TO A CLB, CLB, CLB; RA. OTHER ACFT Y WAS CLBING. WE HAD ACFT Y VISUALLY. DISREGARDED LAST RA AS UNSAFE AND DSNDED TO 7000 FT AND LEVELED. SLIGHT TURN INITIATED BY BOTH ACFT Y. CONTINUED CLB. TCASII FUNCTIONED WELL TILL LAST RA. I FEEL CTLRS MAY HAVE MADE ERROR THAT WAS CORRECTED BY COMBINATION OF PLTS WITH EYES OUT OF COCKPIT AND TCASII. ONLY PROBLEM WOULD HAVE BEEN THE CLB RA WHICH WOULD HAVE PLACED US BACK UP TOWARDS ACFT Y. ACFT Y PASSED ABOVE AND BEHIND US BY ABOUT 400 FT AND 1/2 MI. IF IMC, METAL WOULD HAVE BEEN BENT.
