Narrative:
Air carrier X climbing out of lax eastbound to trm. X was requested to expedite climb through FL180 to FL200, departure VFR traffic Y northbound at 1 O'clock, 5 mi at 16500 ft. Climbing through 15500 ft we got a TA and departure called the traffic at 1 O'clock at 1-2 mi. PF initiated a leveloff at 16000 ft. We got an RA with a pitch down command. PF complied with the RA until it canceled, then, on concurrence with departure, resumed climb to FL200. Traffic was never seen.

Title: ACR X NON ADHERENCE TO ATC CLRNC TCASII RA WITH VFR ACFT Y STOPPED CLB TO ASSIGNED ALT. EVASIVE ACTION TAKEN.
Narrative: ACR X CLBING OUT OF LAX EBOUND TO TRM. X WAS REQUESTED TO EXPEDITE CLB THROUGH FL180 TO FL200, DEP VFR TFC Y NBOUND AT 1 O'CLOCK, 5 MI AT 16500 FT.
