Narrative:
Flight san-smf-medium large transport 5 NM southeast sac VOR crew experienced TCASII RA calling for immediate climb. Crew responded by climbing to 11800 ft and asking sac approach control if it had any traffic in vicinity of flight. He responded negative, RA ceased and crew descended to 11000 ft. Crew advised sac approach control of apparent false TCASII RA warning. Flight landed smf without further incident. Sac did not advise crew of any near miss or separation loss as a result of crew response to TCASII RA warning.
