Narrative:
On approach to washington dulles airport, approximately 25 NM west, 275 radial aml VOR and descending from 10000 ft to 5000 ft, we got a TCASII TA. This was immediately followed by ATC controller advisory of traffic at 12 O'clock. Immediately TCASII RA of 'climb, climb' followed. We complied with TCASII and climbed 700 ft. Aircraft Y was sighted passing 9 O'clock and a few hundred ft below and approach was advised. TCASII information was excellent.
