Narrative:
After takeoff from fll retracted gear. Red 'door light' stayed on. In the process of going to the 'door light' illuminated procedure, the system 'a' hydraulic fluid and pressures dropped to 0. Accomplished the company approved hydraulic system 'a' failure procedures including dumping fuel and landed uneventfully at mia. Declared an emergency and chose to land at mia because it was a longer runway.
