Narrative:

At FL290 the aircraft entered a zone of light chop while IMC. The radar was painting no precipitation. The aircraft suddenly experienced several violent vertical jolts, the last and most violent strong enough to elevate anything not tied down. This caused an aisle cart to fall on a cabin crew member injuring her foot. ZHU was contacted and we initiated an immediate return to iah. Supplemental information from acn 211809: due to cruise conditions, the seatbelt sign was kept on.
