Air Traffic Incident | Operational Error |
Narrative:
Air carrier Y freighter crossed air carrier X bow with a separation of 2 mi at our altitude as we climbed through FL290 to FL330. Air carrier X was on assigned heading 090 degrees. Air carrier Y appeared to be level at FL290 on a heading of 060. ATC controller was advised of the near miss. I had just asked controller for 'direct elato' which was declined and I looked out to see other air carrier Y at 2 O'clock. I called out the traffic and we watched it cross from right to left. I then reported the incident to hkg controller.
