Narrative:
We were cleared for a visual approach to runway 24. As we turned final I saw the belly of a navy spc who had been cleared to follow us. The military Y cut in front of us on final. We had a much higher gndspd, therefore spacing requirements were lost. We initiated a go around with a climbing right turn. ATC instructed the spc to turn left over the field, however, the spc turned right towards us. ATC again instructed the spc to turn left, the spc complied. We made a right 270 degree turn and landed without incident. The cause of the near miss was the navy spc failing to adhere to the ATC clearance. The spc turned toward the runway without seeing our medium large transport. Additionally, the spc failed to follow ATC's instructions by turning the wrong way. Training of flight crew on importance of adherence to ATC instruction is needed to prevent a recurrence. Supplemental information from acn 218877: I don't believe he ever saw us. We did not have TCASII.

Title: POTENTIAL CONFLICT IN TFC PATTERN. ARR TFC.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 24. AS WE TURNED FINAL I SAW THE BELLY OF A NAVY SPC WHO HAD BEEN CLRED TO FOLLOW US. THE MIL Y CUT IN FRONT OF US ON FINAL. WE HAD A MUCH HIGHER GNDSPD, THEREFORE SPACING REQUIREMENTS WERE LOST. WE INITIATED A GAR WITH A CLBING R TURN. ATC INSTRUCTED THE SPC TO TURN L OVER THE FIELD, HOWEVER, THE SPC TURNED RIGHT TOWARDS US. ATC AGAIN INSTRUCTED THE SPC TO TURN L, THE SPC COMPLIED. WE MADE A R 270 DEG TURN AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE CAUSE OF THE NEAR MISS WAS THE NAVY SPC FAILING TO ADHERE TO THE ATC CLRNC. THE SPC TURNED TOWARD THE RWY WITHOUT SEEING OUR MLG. ADDITIONALLY, THE SPC FAILED TO FOLLOW ATC'S INSTRUCTIONS BY TURNING THE WRONG WAY. TRAINING OF FLC ON IMPORTANCE OF ADHERENCE TO ATC INSTRUCTION IS NEEDED TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 218877: I DON'T BELIEVE HE EVER SAW US. WE DID NOT HAVE TCASII.
