Narrative:
I had landed runway 14 blm and was concerned about a business jet which wanted to back-taxi. After I entered the taxiway, I started across runway 3-21, at which time an small aircraft (probably an small aircraft) departing on runway 3 passed over me at less than 50 ft altitude. I should have looked before crossing runway 3, even though (in my mind, at least) runway 14 was the active runway. I did have the radio on, and heard no message that anyone else was departing.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: NMAC. SMA ACFT TAXIED ACROSS RWY IN FRONT OF DEPARTING SMA ACFT.
Narrative: I HAD LANDED RWY 14 BLM AND WAS CONCERNED ABOUT A BUSINESS JET WHICH WANTED TO BACK-TAXI. AFTER I ENTERED THE TAXIWAY, I STARTED ACROSS RWY 3-21, AT WHICH TIME AN SMA (PROBABLY AN SMA) DEPARTING ON RWY 3 PASSED OVER ME AT LESS THAN 50 FT ALT. I SHOULD HAVE LOOKED BEFORE XING RWY 3, EVEN THOUGH (IN MY MIND, AT LEAST) RWY 14 WAS THE ACTIVE RWY. I DID HAVE THE RADIO ON, AND HEARD NO MESSAGE THAT ANYONE ELSE WAS DEPARTING.
