Narrative:
Well into the descent profile we were cleared to cross polar dxo 343/041 at 12000. I asked if the 250 KT restriction and he responded, 'speed your discretion. The copilot was busy with ATIS, an in-range call to company and check closed runways and taxiways due to construction. Out of 15000 I called '2 to go' and was starting to slow due to the distance to the airport and out of 14000 called '1 to go.' the copilot acknowledged, and about 13500 slowing through 280 KIAS from 330 KIAS at about 45 DME, center turned us over to dtw approach. Just prior to polar, dtw approach cleared us to 11000 and slow to 210 KIAS. The incident is as close to an altitude violation. I should have thanked approach for the lower altitude and I write this for the benefit of others. Nearly 7 yrs ago a merger was announced (buyout) of my former employer by my present employer. My copilot and I were from 1 side but we had a jump seta rider from the other side. I feel he was the contributing factor by the intimidation that carried on board.

THE INCIDENT IS AS CLOSE TO AN ALT VIOLATION. I SHOULD HAVE THANKED APCH FOR THE LOWER ALT AND I WRITE THIS FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHERS. NEARLY 7 YRS AGO A MERGER WAS ANNOUNCED (BUYOUT) OF MY FORMER EMPLOYER BY MY PRESENT EMPLOYER. MY COPLT AND I WERE FROM 1 SIDE BUT WE HAD A JUMP SETA RIDER FROM THE OTHER SIDE. I FEEL HE WAS THE CONTRIBUTING FACTOR BY THE INTIMIDATION THAT CARRIED ON BOARD.
