Narrative:
I was on a VFR flight from sarasota-bradenton airport (srq) to river ranch airport (2RR). Avon park MOA was active at the time (ZMA advised me of this) and my intentions were to go to the north of the MOA. I reached the 090 degree radial of lakeland VOR and flew east on that radial, as this would take me to the northern edge of the MOA. Looking at my charts, I saw the avon north MOA was from 4000 ft to 18000 ft. I felt if I stayed under 4000 ft I would not penetrate the MOA. My mistake was not checking further on R2901E which states that 1000 ft to 4000 ft is the restr area. A couple of fgts were in the area at the time and noticed my penetration and buzzed me apparently getting my north number. Upon my return to sarasota, I purchased a miami sectional (I only had the fl state issue sectional and the low altitude en route chart in the aircraft at the time), looked a little closer, and noticed my mistake.

Title: PRIVATE PLT OF SMA ACFT INADVERTENTLY PENETRATED A RESTRICTED AREA AND WAS IDENTED BY FGT ACFT.
Narrative: I WAS ON A VFR FLT FROM SARASOTA-BRADENTON ARPT (SRQ) TO RIVER RANCH ARPT (2RR). AVON PARK MOA WAS ACTIVE AT THE TIME (ZMA ADVISED ME OF THIS) AND MY INTENTIONS WERE TO GO TO THE N OF THE MOA. I REACHED THE 090 DEG RADIAL OF LAKELAND VOR AND FLEW E ON THAT RADIAL, AS THIS WOULD TAKE ME TO THE NORTHERN EDGE OF THE MOA. LOOKING AT MY CHARTS, I SAW THE AVON N MOA WAS FROM 4000 FT TO 18000 FT. I FELT IF I STAYED UNDER 4000 FT I WOULD NOT PENETRATE THE MOA. MY MISTAKE WAS NOT CHKING FURTHER ON R2901E WHICH STATES THAT 1000 FT TO 4000 FT IS THE RESTR AREA. A COUPLE OF FGTS WERE IN THE AREA AT THE TIME AND NOTICED MY PENETRATION AND BUZZED ME APPARENTLY GETTING MY N NUMBER. UPON MY RETURN TO SARASOTA, I PURCHASED A MIAMI SECTIONAL (I ONLY HAD THE FL STATE ISSUE SECTIONAL AND THE LOW ALT ENRTE CHART IN THE ACFT AT THE TIME), LOOKED A LITTLE CLOSER, AND NOTICED MY MISTAKE.
