Narrative:
Flying level at 11000 ft approaching hamak intersection on the blue ridge 3 arrival. Approach control advised us of traffic climbing under us opposite direction. Then TCASII gave a TA and showed a target 2-3 mi 12 O'clock about 1500 ft below us and climbing. A few seconds later, TCASII gave an RA to climb. Immediate action was taken to comply with TCASII command. A few seconds later, TCASII advised clear of conflict, so the captain stopped climb and started descending back down to 11000 ft. The highest altitude was 11700 ft. Approach control frequency was busy, so we advised him of our situation as we were descending back down through 11400 ft.

Title: AN ACR MLG RESPONDED TO A TCASII CLB COMMAND INBOUND TO DFW ON THE BLUE RIDGE STAR.
Narrative: FLYING LEVEL AT 11000 FT APCHING HAMAK INTXN ON THE BLUE RIDGE 3 ARR. APCH CTL ADVISED US OF TFC CLBING UNDER US OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THEN TCASII GAVE A TA AND SHOWED A TARGET 2-3 MI 12 O'CLOCK ABOUT 1500 FT BELOW US AND CLBING. A FEW SECONDS LATER, TCASII GAVE AN RA TO CLB. IMMEDIATE ACTION WAS TAKEN TO COMPLY WITH TCASII COMMAND. A FEW SECONDS LATER, TCASII ADVISED CLR OF CONFLICT, SO THE CAPT STOPPED CLB AND STARTED DSNDING BACK DOWN TO 11000 FT. THE HIGHEST ALT WAS 11700 FT. APCH CTL FREQ WAS BUSY, SO WE ADVISED HIM OF OUR SITUATION AS WE WERE DSNDING BACK DOWN THROUGH 11400 FT.
