Narrative:
Aircraft en route mem-geg. While being vectored for the ILS runway 21 CAT ii approach at get, the GPWS went off sounding 'terrain, terrain.' since the aircraft was IMC, the captain elected to do the GPWS escape maneuver climbing to 8500 MSL and notified get approach. They explained that several other aircraft had indicated the same problem in this area, but they had complied with MVA for that area.

Title: WHILE ON CAT II APCH, FLC RECEIVES GPWS ALERT.
Narrative: ACFT ENRTE MEM-GEG. WHILE BEING VECTORED FOR THE ILS RWY 21 CAT II APCH AT GET, THE GPWS WENT OFF SOUNDING 'TERRAIN, TERRAIN.' SINCE THE ACFT WAS IMC, THE CAPT ELECTED TO DO THE GPWS ESCAPE MANEUVER CLBING TO 8500 MSL AND NOTIFIED GET APCH. THEY EXPLAINED THAT SEVERAL OTHER ACFT HAD INDICATED THE SAME PROBLEM IN THIS AREA, BUT THEY HAD COMPLIED WITH MVA FOR THAT AREA.
