Narrative:

We were holding short of runway 35R at intersection 31 at dfw airport. Our nose gear was within 3 ft of the hold short line. Dfw tower called our flight number and told us to pull up a little bit. Both the first officer and myself could not believe our ears. The first officer told the tower we were 'on top of the hold short line.' she instructed us again to move up, 'cause she needed more space behind us (sounded desperate). I pulled up about 6 ft (which I regret doing, right now). Then I saw an airliner on short final for the runway 35R. I stopped and was still clear of 35R, but past the hold short line. That medium large transport landed without incident and we took off after him. As I turned onto 35R I looked back and saw 3 more t- propellers behind me on taxiway 31 between 35L and right. But taxiway 32 was totally clear. Why did she not use 32 to park aircraft? Why did I not refuse to pull up? This situation was totally unsafe. I called the tower supervisor after landing at our destination. Dfw airport is unsafe, busy. An incident/accident is imminent.

Title: COMMUTER ACFT HOLDING SHORT REQUESTED TO MOVE FORWARD TO HOLD LINE BY TWR. CLOSE PROX LNDG ACFT.

Narrative: WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 35R AT INTXN 31 AT DFW ARPT. OUR NOSE GEAR WAS WITHIN 3 FT OF THE HOLD SHORT LINE. DFW TWR CALLED OUR FLT NUMBER AND TOLD US TO PULL UP A LITTLE BIT. BOTH THE FO AND MYSELF COULD NOT BELIEVE OUR EARS. THE FO TOLD THE TWR WE WERE 'ON TOP OF THE HOLD SHORT LINE.' SHE INSTRUCTED US AGAIN TO MOVE UP, 'CAUSE SHE NEEDED MORE SPACE BEHIND US (SOUNDED DESPERATE). I PULLED UP ABOUT 6 FT (WHICH I REGRET DOING, RIGHT NOW). THEN I SAW AN AIRLINER ON SHORT FINAL FOR THE RWY 35R. I STOPPED AND WAS STILL CLR OF 35R, BUT PAST THE HOLD SHORT LINE. THAT MLG LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AND WE TOOK OFF AFTER HIM. AS I TURNED ONTO 35R I LOOKED BACK AND SAW 3 MORE T- PROPS BEHIND ME ON TAXIWAY 31 BTWN 35L AND R. BUT TAXIWAY 32 WAS TOTALLY CLR. WHY DID SHE NOT USE 32 TO PARK ACFT? WHY DID I NOT REFUSE TO PULL UP? THIS SITUATION WAS TOTALLY UNSAFE. I CALLED THE TWR SUPVR AFTER LNDG AT OUR DEST. DFW ARPT IS UNSAFE, BUSY. AN INCIDENT/ACCIDENT IS IMMINENT.
