Narrative:
Departing pdx runway 10L, rivr 4 SID, cleared to 9000. During climb out, departure requested left turn heading 030 degrees at the pdx 11 DME. At about 11 DME, I was programming the flight guidance to make a smooth level-off at 9000. Due to my preoccupation with the flight guidance, I missed my turn at 11 DME and didn't turn until 16 DME.
