Narrative:

The checklist was interrupted and the last 2 challenge response items were not verified complete. Takeoff was discontinued when takeoff warning horn sounded during application of takeoff power. Found takeoff trim not set properly. Reaccomplished all checklists and executed a normal takeoff. First officer and so dropped the ball. But I, as so, feel responsible for not properly completing the checklist which would have avoided the problem.

Narrative: THE CHKLIST WAS INTERRUPTED AND THE LAST 2 CHALLENGE RESPONSE ITEMS WERE NOT VERIFIED COMPLETE. TKOF WAS DISCONTINUED WHEN TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED DURING APPLICATION OF TKOF PWR. FOUND TKOF TRIM NOT SET PROPERLY. REACCOMPLISHED ALL CHKLISTS AND EXECUTED A NORMAL TKOF. FO AND SO DROPPED THE BALL. BUT I, AS SO, FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT PROPERLY COMPLETING THE CHKLIST WHICH WOULD HAVE AVOIDED THE PROBLEM.
