Narrative:
Upon reading our before starting engines checklist, we discovered the 'tire burst' light was illuminated. We went to the abnormal section of the flight manual and read the procedure. Then we followed the MEL procedure and determined everything was normal. We took off and immediately lost the pressurization, and there was also a loud noise coming from outside the aircraft. We came immediately back to gso and to the gate. The captain and I immediately got out of the airplane and checked outside to see what had happened. The east and east compartment door had not been locked all the way. Greensboro station has a heat cart hooked up through the east and east compartment and the door had not been locked properly by the ground personnel. We secured the east and east compartment door, added some gas and took off again. The rest of the flight was uneventful. Before we left, we talked to our maintenance control to okay everything.
