Narrative:
Aircraft level at FL370 on autoplt several thousand ft above the clouds. We started to experience turbulence and the autoplt limit light illuminated as the aircraft started to descend. Turbulence became severe and the autoplt was disconnected. Despite substantial back pressure the aircraft continued to descend to approximately FL363 where we finally were able to start a climb back to FL370. Severe turbulence. PIREP reported to ZMA.
