Narrative:
During my required rest period I received a telephone call from crew scheduling at XA35. The scheduler was trying to assign a new trip to take place immediately after the trip I was currently assigned to. I did not receive adequate rest, although legal, since I had to report for duty at XX15 the next morning. When brought to the crew scheduler's attention, they indicated there is nothing stated concerning uninterrupted rest. With less than 6 hours sleep, my first officer had to wake me up during a revenue flight. The information concerning a new assignment could have waited until I called to be released from duty the next day. There is a drastic need for the language pertaining to crew rest to be more specific and include a statement that crew rest will be uninterrupted by all personnel including hotel employees.
