Narrative:
Approximately 35 mi west of clovis VOR, center instructed us to climb and be over clovis at FL330. At clovis, ATC advised us they had traffic at FL310 and that we were at 32700 ft and to immediately climb to FL330 which we did. Just prior to reaching clovis, we had an outer windshield crack which diverted our attention from noticing that the autoplt had reduced our climb rate so that we did not reach FL330 over clovis. In the future, we should pay more attention to what the autoplt is doing. Supplemental information from acn 235391: we had a windshield crack in a spiderweb pattern. It appeared we would make the restriction, and I proceeded with the abnormal checklist which involved pulling a circuit breaker. Over the VOR, center advised of traffic at FL310 and to climb immediately to FL330. The autoplt/pms had leveled at FL328. Lesson: with all the backup system on modern aircraft, when something goes wrong, neither pilot can back the other up. One must fly, the other must fix. We also should have warned the controller we might be close. We also could have delayed the checklist until after level off.

Title: FLC OF ACR LGT ACFT INADVERTENTLY UNDERSHOT CLB XING RESTRICTION CAUSING ATC TO INTERVENE AND REMIND THE FLC OF THE NEED TO CLB TO CLRNC ALT AT ONCE.
Narrative: APPROX 35 MI W OF CLOVIS VOR, CTR INSTRUCTED US TO CLB AND BE OVER CLOVIS AT FL330. AT CLOVIS, ATC ADVISED US THEY HAD TFC AT FL310 AND THAT WE WERE AT 32700 FT AND TO IMMEDIATELY CLB TO FL330 WHICH WE DID. JUST PRIOR TO REACHING CLOVIS, WE HAD AN OUTER WINDSHIELD CRACK WHICH DIVERTED OUR ATTN FROM NOTICING THAT THE AUTOPLT HAD REDUCED OUR CLB RATE SO THAT WE DID NOT REACH FL330 OVER CLOVIS. IN THE FUTURE, WE SHOULD PAY MORE ATTN TO WHAT THE AUTOPLT IS DOING. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 235391: WE HAD A WINDSHIELD CRACK IN A SPIDERWEB PATTERN. IT APPEARED WE WOULD MAKE THE RESTRICTION, AND I PROCEEDED WITH THE ABNORMAL CHKLIST WHICH INVOLVED PULLING A CIRCUIT BREAKER. OVER THE VOR, CTR ADVISED OF TFC AT FL310 AND TO CLB IMMEDIATELY TO FL330. THE AUTOPLT/PMS HAD LEVELED AT FL328. LESSON: WITH ALL THE BACKUP SYS ON MODERN ACFT, WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG, NEITHER PLT CAN BACK THE OTHER UP. ONE MUST FLY, THE OTHER MUST FIX. WE ALSO SHOULD HAVE WARNED THE CTLR WE MIGHT BE CLOSE. WE ALSO COULD HAVE DELAYED THE CHKLIST UNTIL AFTER LEVEL OFF.
