Narrative:
I instructed small aircraft X to taxi into position on runway 19R and hold. I then cleared small aircraft X for takeoff. I instructed air carrier Y to taxi into position and hold on runway 19R because I misinterpreted the flight progress strip for small aircraft X. I instructed small aircraft X to turn right, heading 220 degrees. I then cleared air carrier Y for takeoff. I instructed small aircraft X to contact coast. I then cleared air carrier Y for takeoff. Coast put small aircraft X on heading 175 degrees. Air carrier Y was heading 190 degrees and asked if small aircraft X was turning left. Loss of separation.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR Y SAME HDG ASSIGNED HAD LTSS FROM SMA X. SYS ERROR.
Narrative: I INSTRUCTED SMA X TO TAXI INTO POS ON RWY 19R AND HOLD. I THEN CLRED SMA X FOR TKOF. I INSTRUCTED ACR Y TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 19R BECAUSE I MISINTERPRETED THE FLT PROGRESS STRIP FOR SMA X. I INSTRUCTED SMA X TO TURN R, HDG 220 DEGS. I THEN CLRED ACR Y FOR TKOF. I INSTRUCTED SMA X TO CONTACT COAST. I THEN CLRED ACR Y FOR TKOF. COAST PUT SMA X ON HDG 175 DEGS. ACR Y WAS HDG 190 DEGS AND ASKED IF SMA X WAS TURNING L. LOSS OF SEPARATION.
