Narrative:
After rotation first officer tries to retrim airplane, informs me that elevator trim is inoperative. We follow standard procedures and level off at 2000 ft. We had excessive force on the controls. We return to the field and decide to make a flapless landing. It was easier to control the airplane with flaps up. We called the crash fire rescue equipment team out. It was 3 people on board with 2400 pounds of fuel. We landed without incident. The crew performed admirably.
