Narrative:

TCASII advisory and RA caused by light twin flying under (no visual acquisition, just TCASII positioning) our large transport while we were approximately 500 ft AGL on final (ILS) to lax. RA called for climb of approximately 2000 FPM and initiated it in conjunction with missed approach. Spurious TCASII signals caused confusion during go around as to his exact position. Conversation with tower supervisor indicated his clearance was to turn behind our aircraft to land runway 25R. Supervisor refused to give us the other aircraft tail number.
