Narrative:
I was making an approach to land in a field with power lines on the upwind side. After overflying the power lines, I landed in the field clear of the power lines. Apparently light surface winds curling around a tree line to our left pushed the envelope backwards into the power lines. I immediately pulled the deflation panel. The passenger and I stood in the center of the basket until the crew chief informed us that the balloon was clear of the power lines. There were no injuries to myself or the passenger. There was fabric damage to the envelope caused by arcing of the power lines. There was no damage to the power lines or other property.
