Narrative:

Selected gear up after departure. Completed engine scan while waiting for gear to lock up. When I checked for uplock, noticed left gear doors annunciator was still illuminated. Checked for landing gear inoperative caution light prior to recycling gear. Selected gear down. Nose and right main extended normally. Left main never unlocked and stayed up. Retracted gear again, doors still remained open. After consulting with company maintenance department, performed alternate gear extension which extended all gear and obtained all 3 down and locked indications. Crash, fire, and rescue was called out as a precautionary measure. Landing was uneventful.
