Narrative:

In moving the airplane from hangar to gate, first officer, who was last person on aircraft, failed to close door/pull stairs in. During prestart checklist, we failed to verify status of all doors. We consequently taxied forward a short distance, 100 ft approximately, before correcting the situation. This resulted in some damage to aircraft. Although running the appropriate checklist, the wrong or inadequate response was given. I would like to see training emphasis on more descriptive responses such as 'on/off' 'open/shut' numerical values where appropriate than 'checked' or 'appropriate.'
