Narrative:
On a 3000 ft grass strip with first 1/4 level and last 3/4 downhill, attempted SOP soft field takeoff downhill/downwind. Inspected runway full length prior to flight and estimated wind at 8-10 mph for full length of downhill run. Aircraft became temporarily airborne near runway crest, but then settled onto the ground 2 times during downhill run as aerodynamic performance deteriorated and control response decayed with ground speed increase. Takeoff was aborted, resulting in ground loop, collapsed nose gear and propeller strike. Suspect mountain wave effect beyond runway crest, resulting in a large increase of tailwind component during downhill run.

Title: TKOF PROC DOWNWIND TKOF ABORTED. ACFT DAMAGED.
Narrative: ON A 3000 FT GRASS STRIP WITH FIRST 1/4 LEVEL AND LAST 3/4 DOWNHILL, ATTEMPTED SOP SOFT FIELD TKOF DOWNHILL/DOWNWIND. INSPECTED RWY FULL LENGTH PRIOR TO FLT AND ESTIMATED WIND AT 8-10 MPH FOR FULL LENGTH OF DOWNHILL RUN. ACFT BECAME TEMPORARILY AIRBORNE NEAR RWY CREST, BUT THEN SETTLED ONTO THE GND 2 TIMES DURING DOWNHILL RUN AS AERODYNAMIC PERFORMANCE DETERIORATED AND CTL RESPONSE DECAYED WITH GND SPD INCREASE. TKOF WAS ABORTED, RESULTING IN GND LOOP, COLLAPSED NOSE GEAR AND PROP STRIKE. SUSPECT MOUNTAIN WAVE EFFECT BEYOND RWY CREST, RESULTING IN A LARGE INCREASE OF TAILWIND COMPONENT DURING DOWNHILL RUN.
