Narrative:

First noticed something wrong when I noted the distance to lax and knew it was past time to start our descent. Upon checking the radios, we appeared to still be on an ZAB frequency. I attempted to call it sounded faintly like joshua was trying to answer. We found a familiar ZLA frequency and checked in. Center said they had been trying to reach us 'for the last 200 mi.' somehow, the radio handoff from ZAB to ZLA was missed. I'm sure radio chatter, inferior quality radios with older aircraft, the requirement to monitor company frequency, and ATC radio procedures breakdown all contributed to this event.
