Narrative:
After making standard fuel verification with agent in pit, departed en route to fwa. On initial climb, noticed the fuel totalizer not moving. Fuel burned on rate gauges did not correspond with fuel total. Depressed the fuel quantity indicator button. Totalizer did not move. Found totalizer breaker popped. Reset breaker and fuel quantity moved to lower than release fuel load less fuel burned, approximately 6200 pounds. Returned to pit. Wrote up in aircraft logbook. Maintenance made repair. Refueled aircraft and sticked tanks to verify proper reading on fuel on board. Continued on to fwa, no further problems. There were numerous thunderstorms in area upon arrival. Just prior to arrival, lightning had struck an aircraft and ground personnel. Lightning also struck lightning rod at terminal. This may have been a contributing factor. The mechanical gauges on medium large transport aircraft are AC pwred and freeze wherever they are if power is interrupted.

Title: AN ACR MLG CREW TOOK OFF WITHOUT ENOUGH FUEL FOR FLT.
Narrative: AFTER MAKING STANDARD FUEL VERIFICATION WITH AGENT IN PIT, DEPARTED ENRTE TO FWA. ON INITIAL CLB, NOTICED THE FUEL TOTALIZER NOT MOVING. FUEL BURNED ON RATE GAUGES DID NOT CORRESPOND WITH FUEL TOTAL. DEPRESSED THE FUEL QUANTITY INDICATOR BUTTON. TOTALIZER DID NOT MOVE. FOUND TOTALIZER BREAKER POPPED. RESET BREAKER AND FUEL QUANTITY MOVED TO LOWER THAN RELEASE FUEL LOAD LESS FUEL BURNED, APPROX 6200 LBS. RETURNED TO PIT. WROTE UP IN ACFT LOGBOOK. MAINT MADE REPAIR. REFUELED ACFT AND STICKED TANKS TO VERIFY PROPER READING ON FUEL ON BOARD. CONTINUED ON TO FWA, NO FURTHER PROBS. THERE WERE NUMEROUS TSTMS IN AREA UPON ARR. JUST PRIOR TO ARR, LIGHTNING HAD STRUCK AN ACFT AND GND PERSONNEL. LIGHTNING ALSO STRUCK LIGHTNING ROD AT TERMINAL. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. THE MECHANICAL GAUGES ON MLG ACFT ARE AC PWRED AND FREEZE WHEREVER THEY ARE IF PWR IS INTERRUPTED.
